What is Psychosexual Therapy?
Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy is a specialist branch of Psychotherapy which focuses on sexual problems and difficulties between partners and individually.
Changes in our relationship with ourselves, or others can affect us at any life stage and can we can feel very alone with these adjustments. Our history and background, our life experiences and the way sex and relationships are portrayed in society and through the media can influence us, giving unrealistic expectations and misunderstandings of what may be possible for us personally.
Sex in itself is simple but can carry such complexity. It is often only when things don't go to plan or when sex becomes difficult, we then may need some support to look at what's happening on a deeper level or even just from a different perspective. Increasing our awareness of intimacy and learning new skills can bring a sense of autonomy and understanding of our internal world.
You may find yourself in a position where your relationship and/or sex life does not present with any particular concern but are questioning the potential of something more. You can use the counselling space to explore these wonderings to find ways of enhancing what you already have in a safe and non judgemental space.
I offer a space to explore puzzles and difficulties in however they present and how they impact us.
Some of the concerns I address include:
